Very good show at the gala--lots of energy, sharp characters, enthusiastic audience. In the week since, I've heard the shows have been uniformly strong, with the characters owning the world and the voice of the play: its evocation of rural life shadowed by memories of war, and its comic, poignant suggestion that we are sometimes betrayed, and betrayer, in matters of the heart for the best of reasons. I'm going back.
